VAF congratulates the Asian Women are Strong summit in San Francisco
BY GABBY CANNING
The Very Asian Foundation congratulates Asian Women Are Strong after a successful event in San Francisco on March 8 at the Asian Art Museum.
It turned out to be quite an event — organizers say it made history by becoming the largest Asian American women-focused celebration in the world.

With art, music, and performances, this summit embodied the spirit of what it means to be a woman. It not only celebrated accomplishments, but it also created a space where women could uplift one another. Michelle Li served as the emcee for the main stage, and Gia Vang helped facilitate the fireside chat with Amanda Nguyen, the author of Saving Five. Executive Director Soogi Hong led our tabling efforts and spent time meeting with hundreds of people interested in learning more about VAF.
In addition to participating in these events, we also partnered with Avalon Bay Communities to donate 250+ books to five schools in the SF Unified School District via The May Book Project. We believe representation matters, especially for our Asian youth, and we want to ensure young girls have main character energy in real life.
The entire VAF team is honored to help, and we’d love to see you out. If you are interested in volunteering alongside us, reach out to contact@veryasianfoundation.org.
